TOTH announced the retirement of Darold Phillips after 50 years of serving as an electrical planning engineer for electric cooperatives throughout the Midwest. Phillips was a Vice President at TOTH, where he worked since 2007. He also worked with Lou Toth, founder of TOTH, since 1982.

Phillips is a Professional Engineer (P.E.) with a Master of Science in Engineering Management (1976) and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management with Electrical Emphasis (1972), both from the University of Missouri, Rolla, currently Missouri University of Science & Technology. He is licensed in six (6) states, was honored in 1983 with the Young Engineer Award Ozark Chapter MSPE, and provided numerous professional development seminars in the electric utility field on topics such as planning, rates, design, and administration. He provided consulting services in a wide range of electrical engineering disciplines related to system planning, substations, transmission/distribution line design, fiber optic analysis, mapping, and more.

August 6, 2022, marked Phillips’ last day as he moved into a well deserved retirement. “I have had the privilege of both knowing and working with Darold Phillips for over 40 years. Darold is an extremely capable engineer and well respected in our industry. He is a man of high integrity and a terrific friend and family man. He will be missed. Best wishes for a successful and healthy retirement,” stated Lou Toth, PE, Board President.

Phillips reflected on his career, stating, “Working at TOTH has been a perfect fit for me as the company exemplifies the work ethic I was taught as a child, and I have tried to main through my career. Many accepted practices have changed in the electrical utility industry over the past 50 years. What hasn’t changed is building good relationships with our employees and clients. Truly caring on a personal level is what has led to a successful career and business.”
