Hermiston Butte Substation Distribution Upgrade
Description:
The Hermiston Butte Substation Distribution Upgrade Project consisted of replacing the existing 115/12.47 kV substation distribution facilities with modern equipment. Upgrades included rebuilding the distribution side of the station and removing the existing low side structures, equipment, and foundations. This accommodated the low-side configuration of main breakers supplying a main and auxiliary bus arrangement with 8 distribution bays and a tie breaker. The distribution feeders were routed via underground with new vaults, cable, and conduit.
Services – TOTH’s design and drawing package services included civil, structural, and electrical engineering for the following aspects of the project: field topographical survey, replacement of existing structures, foundations, general arrangement, lighting, lightning protection, ground grid, auxiliary AC and DC systems, and material list; including separate drawing packages for each phase of construction. In addition to the design, TOTH produced and reviewed specifications for major materials (transformer, breakers, switches, etc.) and the primary construction contract to assist the Client and its procurement processes. TOTH also provided RUS contract management.
