Homestead – Oregon Trail 115kV Transmission Line
Description:
TOTH engineered and designed new power lines to integrate the newly built 115 kV Oregon Trail substation. The project includes approximately 4 miles of 115 kV line with 12.47 kV underbuild. Part of the project included transferring the existing facilities, 1 mile of 115 kV line and a 12.47 kV line along the entire new construction route, to the new line.
The new line is built between a road and irrigation canal. The location presented the challenge of locating the underground facilities nearby to prevent damage to underground pipes. TOTH successfully overcame this challenge by communicating with landowners and ensuring that each pole and anchor location was probed and/or vac tucked prior to digging.
