City of West Plains- Regional Detention Basin Engineering Report
Description:
In 2013, the City of West Plains, Missouri completed a Stormwater Evaluation and Management Planning Study for the watershed and primary drainage system that contained the entire city limits of West Plains. The study identified four regional detention facilities to be constructed to reduce peak flow volumes in the downstream system. The two highest priority basins were the North Fork of Howell Creek and Burton Branch Regional Stormwater Detention Basins. The City selected TOTH to assist with completion of a stormwater engineering report to provide a more in-depth study of the two highest ranking basins. The engineering report presented the hydrology and hydraulics associated with the two facilities, provided exhibits showing the proposed impacts, and established costs associated with the basins. The engineering report was utilized to pursue funding opportunities.
