City of Springfield Overlay & ADA Improvements
Description:
The City of Springfield selected TOTH to provide engineering design, land surveying, and construction engineering services for resurfacing and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements for approximately 12.5 miles of primary arterials. The three corridors to receive mill and overlay for their existing pavement are National Avenue, Battlefield Road, and Sunshine Street. These three stretches of road carry 10,000’s of cars each day. In addition to the mill and overlay of these streets, the Federal funding utilized for the project requires that the intersection along the corridors be brought current with the ADA. Therefore, TOTH surveyed 19 of the signalized intersections within the project limits and designed improvements to bring the intersections into ADA compliance. TOTH has developed traffic control, restriping, milling plans, and ADA improvement plans. The estimated construction cost is $2,900,000.
