The Carl Junction R-1 School District passed a $16.5 million bond issue in 2014 for the expansion of new safe room facilities at their existing high school, intermediate school, and K-1 buildings. TOTH provided structural engineering, civil engineering, and professional land surveying services for each of the three expansions. Among the civil engineering services provided for these projects, TOTH’s design responsibilities included design of stormwater collection, conveyance & detention systems for each respective site, parking lot modifications, access road design, site utilities, site grading & preparation of construction plans, and technical specifications. TOTH’s professional land surveying services included boundary determination and the vacation of existing city road right of way as well as topographic survey at each of the sites.
