Description:
Toth and Associates provided structural and civil engineering design services for the construction of Springfield, Missouri’s new public safety training center. This new facility is an addition to an existing fire station. The building includes three multi-purpose classrooms and a training facility/gym for the Springfield Police Academy. An outdoor facility is also included for the Academy.
Civil engineering services for this project included site preparation and earthwork, dust and erosion control, lawn and grass work, and concrete and asphalt paving. Cement and concrete for exterior improvements included sidewalks, curbs and gutters, driveways, and concrete for storm structures. The storm drainage system included storm drainage pipes and appurtenances, manholes, and inlet and outlet structures.
Structural engineering services TOTH provided for this project included cast-in-place concrete for footings, foundation walls, and slabs-on-grade, as well as concrete unit masonry, structural steel framing, steel joist framing, steel decking, and cold-formed metal framing.
