It is with honor and humility that Louis Toth accepts this award. His heart and mind have always been with rural electric cooperatives. He has contributed to rural communities for over 48 years, helping provide power and electricity to tens of thousands of homes and businesses. On receiving the award, Toth says, “I am humbled to be included with a group of uniquely qualified, capable, and visionary individuals that have previously received this award.”
Toth is a visionary who is passionate about his work, his clients, and his employees. His impact on rural communities is proven through the testimonies of many colleagues. In reference to Toth’s direct involvement in helping a NE Oklahoma cooperative after devastating ice events, Robert Echenrode, CEO of Umatilla Electric Cooperative, says, “His dedication and commitment were a lifesaver to the cooperative and the community. Lou’s skills assisting in developing comprehensive rebuilding strategies, mitigation projects to improve resiliency, and guidance through applications with FEMA are indispensable.”
Many testimonies, just like Echenrode’s follow in the path of Lou Toth, for he has touched the lives of many, although he is too humble to admit this. Toth is a deserving recipient of IEEE’s Seethapathy Rural Electrification Excellence Award for his many contributions to providing quality and affordable power and electricity to rural communities across the United States.
