Last year, Toth & Associates, Inc. (TOTH) entered Biz 417’s Best Places to Work but did not make the list. Rather than accept the loss and leave it at that, TOTH took the results seriously. Biz 417’s Best Places to Work listings are decided in partnership with the Best Companies Group, and the list-makers are determined via anonymous employee surveys. Best Companies Group offers these survey results to employers so that they can see what their employees think they do well, and what they could improve. TOTH’s leadership saw the opportunity.

“Our employees wanted more flexibility, so we created a new PTO policy.” TOTH President Adam Toth told Biz 417 in the Best Places to Work feature. Adam explains that the survey results from the 2023 entry led to a new PTO policy that allows employees to accumulate leave, along with adding bereavement leave and an extra holiday.

Along with the new PTO policy, TOTH continues to bolster company culture with activities designed to build community and a focus on making sure everyone feels valued. “When people think of us, I want them to think of family, and I want them to think of more than their work,” Adam adds.
