Description:
Payne Switch Station is a new 138 kV four-terminal switch station constructed to support Western Farmers Electric Cooperative’s (WFEC) transmission system in Oklahoma. The station is configured as a four-breaker ring bus and includes a new control building, backup generator, and microwave tower. Payne Switch Station is one of six stations TOTH has completed in the last several years for WFEC.
Tasks performed include site selection, site layout, grading design, fence design, design of substation structures, bus & switching configuration, bus design, ground grid design, design of lightning protection, equipment specification, auxiliary circuit design (ac and dc), dc load analysis & battery sizing, and project management.
