PLANNING ENGINEER POSITION

PLANNING ENGINEER (SPRINGFIELD, MO)

As a planning electrical engineer at TOTH & Associates, you will work on all aspects of planning studies and distribution design for electric utility systems, including: Construction Work Plans, Long-Range Plans, System Studies, Environmental Reports, Power Factor Studies, Flicker Studies, Arc Flash Studies, Load Flow Analysis, Coordination & Sectionalizing Studies, Distribution Line Design, and Work Order Review.

A qualified applicant must have good interpersonal skills, as the job requires management of projects and team members as well as meeting and working closely with clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required
  • 3+ years of experience as a consulting engineer in electrical utility planning or 3+ years of experience as a utility system engineer
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints
  • Experience tracking project information, such as schedules, preparing status reports, and client interface
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Milsoft (preferred), CYME, or Synergi
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Familiarity with the NESC and RUS standards as they relate to distribution design and planning.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • PE license
  • Experience with Distributed Generation
  • AutoCAD experience
  • GIS Experience with ESRI, Futura, NISC, or WindMil Map
  • Programming experience
  • Experience staking distribution lines
